1987

The Beginning of ARUN Technology
ARUN Technology is founded in Southwater, West Sussex, taking its name from the nearby River Arun and beginning a journey of innovation in metal analysis.

1990

A World First
ARUN introduces the Analoy 1401, the world’s first CCD-based Optical Emission Spectrometer, marking a significant advancement in analytical technology.

1996

Introducing the MetalScan 2000
The MetalScan 2000 series is launched, introducing ARUN’s first benchtop Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES).

2006

A New Home
ARUN Technology relocates to its current headquarters in Manor Royal, Crawley, supporting the company’s continued development and growth.

2016

A New Chapter
ARUN Technology is acquired by Focused Photonics Inc., marking a new chapter in the company’s evolution.

The ARTUS 8 Arrives
The ARTUS 8 series of Optical Emission Spectrometers is introduced, further expanding ARUN’s analytical capabilities.

2017

Launch of the MERLIN 4
ARUN launches the MERLIN 4 OES, offering a versatile solution for accurate and reliable metal analysis.

2022

New Leadership
Anna Richardson is appointed Head of ARUN UK, leading the company’s next phase of development.

Advancing OES Technology
The ARTUS 8 and MERLIN 4 undergo significant hardware upgrades, incorporating state-of-the-art CMOS detector technology.

Introducing CALIBUS LIBS
ARUN announces CALIBUS, pioneering handheld Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) technology capable of measuring carbon in ferrous materials.

Expanding the CALIBUS Range
The CALIBUS Al is introduced, further expanding ARUN’s handheld LIBS portfolio.

Introducing CALIBUS iA
